What Makes GAIL TOMA Silk Scarves Special and Unique?
GAIL TOMA has reimagined the art of luxury scarves, blending the timeless elegance of iconic brands like Hermès, Gucci, Ferragamo, and Chanel with her own fresh, accessible approach. Drawing from her experience in fine art and fashion; GAIL has created a limited-edition scarf collection that offers the same craftsmanship and style, at an accessible price point. Each scarf is produced as limited edition series, inspired by fine art, travel, nature that celebrate style and storytelling.
The art of gifting and care taking goes noticed and appreciated in the collection. A luxury custom-designed box makes every piece a signature GAIL TOMA statement. The unique packaging is the preview to the collectable as well as gift that lies insides.
Unlike many luxury scarves; whether folded, tied, or knotted, each GAIL TOMA scarf reveals its intricate patterns in a striking way, meant to treat the piece as art and design with a composition that can be appreciated by the wearer and viewer.
Every GAIL TOMA silk scarf is a handmade, limited edition piece—capturing a moment of inspiration and designed to tell its own story.
What's more, GAIL TOMA Scarf Wall Art allows you to elevate your space with these beautiful designs. Pair a GAIL TOMA complementary pillow design and elevate the true magic in your space.
Process of Making a GAIL TOMA Scarf
The process and details of making a high quality and limited edition scarf are adopted in all GAIL TOMA scarves.
A watercolor and/or gouache painting for each GAIL TOMA silk scarf pattern is created. Inspired by an experience, a journey, a destination, a feeling and the list of inspiration of living a town and country, city and beach lifestyle is behind the art of each scarf.
Gail Toma creates each and every silk scarf composition manually through digital and hand collage exploration.
The final GAIL TOMA Silk Scarf composition is completed in digital layers and translated into printing files.
All digital files for this body of patterns were sent to Asia for hand screen-printing and finishing with an emphasis on hand rolled scarf edges, trim applications and the construction of fine garments and accessories.
The Process of Making a GAIL TOMA Silk Scarf
Each color is printed via a resist process where the negative spaces receive the textile inks and the balance of the composition is protected by solid silk screens similar to canvases. Each color that you see on your scarf is printed one by one.
A drying time of 24 hours is needed in between printing each color in a GAIL TOMA silk scarf. So in the cases of the Martini Collection, 32 colors equate to 32 screens, to 32 days of drying time etc.
Upon drying, each final print is hand rolled and sewn.
Each original GAIL TOMA scarf has a silk label with the original Logo, care instructions and where the scarf was made in.

How do you care for a Silk Scarf?
All Gail Toma scarves have a Dry Clean Label set of instructions.
Silk scarves can be pressed lightly on a sensitive or silk setting under cool settings. If you increase the heat to a warm setting, you must be careful to add a soft white cloth on top of the scarf not to burn the scarf.
It is safer to dry clean vs. hand wash in dishwashing liquid or mild detergents as Wool Light
While I have spot cleaned silk scarves with Dawn and a white soft cloth; all silk product cleaning recommends dry cleaning.
Should you find that the dry cleaners have ‘yellowed your scarves’ over time; hand washing them in cold water with mild detergents as noted above is something I do freely but cannot recommend to my clients as I do not want you to risk ruining any of your scarves!
Feel Beautiful!
